are there any current situations in the world that relate to the novel? what are they, and how do they relate? does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?

There were many connections between the novel and the world right now.
The first connection is that there are many child geniuses in the world. Like Ender many children in the world are born very smart and have a great reputation to do everything well. They also get pressured just like Ender to do everything right and do perfect. Some kids lose their skills because they are pushed too hard. It's a problem these days. Parents have too much hope for their kids and push them very hard, giving them intense training. The kids, however, can't stand it and want to give up. Not everyone is like Ender and can stand it even though they are pushed to their limits. I think that the parents should have more patience towards their child and wait for them to open up their skills and show it to the world. They shouldn't push them so hard. The book doesn't exactly say this but I can inference by the fact that when Ender asked if he was the only one trained for commanding, Mazor says that he's not the first. That means that all the other kids that were pushed so hard couldn't stand the pressure and lost. This means that not everyone is like Ender, therefore, cannot stand the pressure. So we shouldn't pressure the kids but let them show us what they've got.

Another connection was the theme of manipulation. In this world, many children are manipulated by adults and tricked into thinking a specific way. For example, the children soldiers in Africa. They don't know the whole world yet, and when the adult soldiers tell them about killing and shooting guns, they just believe it. Like the thousands of children soldiers, many children are manipulated by adults every day. The only way to resolve this is to have good adults that can tell the children the truth about right and wrong. In Ender's Game, Ender is manipulated by Graff and the authorieis to be pushed around and play in the game he doesn't want to. The thing is, Graff wasn't the evil soldiers in Africa that tell kids to shoot others. Graff loved Ender and only pushed him for all humanity. So I think it will only be resolved when the children are under the right people to be manipulated by.

The third connection is the relationship between children and adults. In this world, children are not important, no adult would hear the truth we say. Adults always have more power over us. However, in fact, children are just the same as adults. Some may be even smarter than most adults. Children are not just here to look adorable and be loved by, they are humans, just like the adults. Some children may end up getting more power than adults. In the history, there were kings that were children. Like this, in Ender's Game, children play an important role. It's the children that end up saving the world from destruction. It's also the children that people hear the voice of when they don't know the real identity (when Peter and Valentine acted as adults in the internet). Children are not to be looked down upon, we are smart enough to know everything. That's why we should fix the problem of not voicing the children and care more about them.

This was an interesting posting. The writing wasn't especially compelling but the fact that you were able to relate the themes of book to real life was pretty amazing. You have some very deep insights of our society despite your age. However, I felt that due to the "sad and depressing" mood of the book, your writing became sad and depressing as well. This was a amazing post but I think you could of made it better by adding a comeback or light of hope in your writing to make it off-the-hook good. Overall, it was just ordinary. I mean extrodinary.
I agree with all of your ideas. Since Ender's Game is basically about young boys training in battle schools, it is obvious that the author is trying to tell about the relationship with children and adults. Child geniuses, I have to say that they are pretty amazing. Its hard to believe that these people go to colleges when they are only in their adolescence. However, I think you could have spiced up this post by using different word choices. Just my thought... Nice post!
This was an excellent posting. While I only was able to bring up only one relationship between the book and the current situation, you were able to bring up 3. All three of them were awesome too.
I also take shame in myself for not being able to recognize the relationship this book has with the current world with children and adults. The relationship was surely obvious in the book...
Anyway, I praise you for recognizing these 3 points.

Wow, I really have to agree with your third connection: Kids are not important and adults don't listen to what they got to say. It's like as if they are using their age to control over us. They don't give us the chance to express our feelings against them. They think as if they are perfect and smart. Adults believe that they are wiser and smarter than kids, but I tell you that it is not true for most of them. They might have more knowledge than SOME kids due to their years of studying, but there are adults that make much stupid mistakes than kids, and they just pretend that it was a "wise" decision. For example, when a kid tries to point out adults mistake, they just shush them and persuades/teaches them its not right, but actually what the kid stated their mistake, it was totally true. Your third connection was a very meaningful post! Well done for your third one!!!
